What is a home when everything has to start from scratch?
What does community mean when you don’t know the language, customs, or your neighbors?
How can we support refugees in reclaiming agency?
"Shelter. Home. Community." is a publication that summarizes the experience of the Konflikt Foundation in running the Intervention Shelter – a program supporting people with refugee backgrounds, especially young men at risk of homelessness and exclusion.
In this report, we outline our working methods, challenges, and the good practices we’ve developed. It is a practical tool for individuals and organizations working in solidarity and within systems – with respect for the agency of those they collaborate with. It is also a valuable read for anyone seeking to better understand the realities faced by refugees and migrants in Poland.
